Employee Offboarding
1. Login to WEDG-DC2-Prod/WWBDC001
a. Using admin.0167
b. Password in 1Password
Exchange Admin Center
2. Log into Exchange Admin Center (admin.exchange.microsoft.com)
a. Using admin.0167
b. Password in 1Password
Convert Mailbox to Shared Mailbox
3. Click on the Mailboxes Tab
4. Search for and select terminated employee by clicking the magnifying glass and typing user’s name
a. In this example we will be using Test User
5. Click on Others tab
6. Convert to shared mailbox
7. Click Confirm and ensure it was successful
Disable Email Access
8. While still in terminated employee’s settings from the step above, click on the General tab
9. Under Email apps & mobile devices, select Manage email apps settings
Disable All Access
10. Disable the following:
a. Outlook on the web
b. Outlook desktop (MAPI)
c. Exchange web services
d. Mobile (Exchange ActiveSync)
e. IMAP
f. POP3
11. Toggle each to disabled and click Save
Microsoft 365 Admin Center
12. Log into Microsoft 365 Admin Center (admin.microsoft.com)
13. Search for the user and click user
14. Under account, look for Sign Out
a. Click sign out of all options
Reset Password and Block sign-in
15. While still in terminated employee’s settings from the step above, click Reset password
16. Go back to the employee’s main tab and click Block sign-in
Remove Licenses
17. While still in terminated employee’s settings from the step above, click on the Licenses and apps tab
18. Remove all licenses and click Save changes
Domain Controller
19. In Active Directory, Search for and Select Terminated Employee
20. Disable the User Account
21. Move User Account to advtel-exchange.local/Wedgewood/Staff/Terms
22. Confirm User is showing in Terms as disabled
