San Diego Humane Society New User Creation Using Onprem O365 Hybrid

To create a new user in OnPrem O365 Exchange:

·        Sign into On Prem Exchange with sdhs\SDHS_Ctac and the password in PWState

·        Click on Recipients

·        Click on the plus sign -> Add Office 365 mailbox

·        Fill out the appropriate fields and hit Save

·        Sign into DC2

o  Find User in Active Directory

o  Fill in information pertaining to the General, Account, Profile, Organization, and Member of tabs in relation the new hire form EE (HR) provides

o Format for SDHS\User logon is first name last initial for computer logon and user logon will be their email 

o  Set new password and click Apply

o  Under the Profile tab, set login script found at \\sdhs\netlogon

o  Under the Member of tab, add the appropriate groups (only the domain groups)

·        Log into DC2 and run the PowerShell script using command “Start-ADSyncCycle -PolicyType Delta”

·        Go to Office 365 admin

o  Search for the user; this can take up to 15 minutes to populate

o  Add the licenses and this will populate the email (this will take a couple of minutes to populate)—New users that aren’t managers get E1 and F3 licenses, managers and up get Business Premium

o  Go to Groups Tab -> Active Groups

§ Add to appropriate group (Everyone Group needs to be added here)

§ All new users get added to the following groups: Everyone, bullphish and bullphish_training

·        Login to Exchange Admin Center

o  Search for user to verify they’re there

·        Create a Mindtouch account for the user

o  Login to https://resources.sdhumane.org/deki/cp/

o  Click on Users then add new user

o  Fill out user information:

§ Username: Email

§ Display Name: Full Name

§ Email: Email

§ PW: Puppy123!

§ Select Community Member

§ “Click Add to groups” then scroll down and select staff_viewer

· Click Add User

·        If the POC requests a Google account, create a new user account. Contact a dedicated tech to add with their account.

o  Click Add a user 

o Add information to the Google form 

Click Add New User and send information to the POC in the completion of the Dreamtsoft ticket:

Here is the information for our new hire:

Computer Login: JohnS

Email: JSmith@sdhumane.org

Mindtouch Username: JSmith@sdhumane.org

Google Account Login: JSmith@sdhumane.org

PW: Puppy123!

Please note that these will all prompt a password change on first login.

This new user creation is now complete. For any details outside the standard new hire EE will let us know.
