RCP Block and Brick — P21: AD Integration

Per Epicor: They do not support AD Authentication. This is indicated with the work instructions have not been updated since the use or Server 2003. Below are the steps to enable AD Authentication for the Desktop Client specifically for RCP Block and Brick.

  • Prerequisites
  • Install .Net 3.5
  • This needs to be installed on the following servers
  • RCP-NOC-DC-1
  • RCP-NOC-DC-1
  • RCP-SQL
  • Active Directory services
  • Needs to be installed on the following servers
  • RCP-NOC-DC-1
  • RCP-NOC-DC-1
  • RCP-SQL
  • Install AD User Interface Extension for Active Directory.
  • Needs to be installed on the following servers
  • RCP-NOC-DC-1
  • RCP-NOC-DC-1
  • RCP-SQL

Once all the above Prerequisites have been installed we will need to take the following steps to enable the integration for AD Authentications.

Before making any adjustments within P21. We are required to consult with Ed regarding the changes as Ed is the SME for this system, and will understand if the changes is going to effect P21 negatively.

  1. Login to RCP-SQL
  2. Launch P21
  3. Icon for the current version is installed on the desktop under the Service Desk admin account.
  4. From the Module menu, select System Setup.
  5. From the System menu, select System Settings. The System Settings window opens.
  6. Expand the System Setup folder in the left pane.
  7. Click the Active Directory node under the System Setup folder. The node’s system settings
  8. display in the right pane.
  9. Enable the Enable Active Directory Integration checkbox. This will make the rest of the
  10. fields in this node editable, and will enable the Active Directory Role to Prophet 21 User Maintenance
  11. window.
  12. Go to the Active Directory Role to Prophet 21 User Maintenance window and set up your groups. See the Setting Up AD Roles in Prophet 21 section below for more details.

Important! Before you enter any further details or enable any check boxes here, ensure that you have set up your users for Active Directory integration as described in this section and in the sections above. If you do not, the system will prevent any users not set up from accessing the Prophet 21 system.

12. After you have set up your users, enable the rest of the check boxes and fields as desired (for more information on each field, see the table below).

13. Click the Save button to save the record.
