Prior to starting a new phone setup, it is recommended that you determine the following:

  • Phone Model # aka Type: This will be found on the label on the back of the phone above the serial #. Likely a 5200 series.
  • Extension: Determine the desired extension that is not yet created in the system. If no desired extension, continue from the last extension in the 2300-2500 range.
  • User’s domain password for voicemail to email setup

It will open up to the General tab by default.

  • Phone Type: This will typically be left as the default, but confirm the model phone that you are setting up to be safe.
  • Extension: Determine the desired extension that is not yet created in the system. If no desired extension, continue from the last extension in the 2300-2500 range.
  • Username: This is superficial, and is not actually associated with any username for the user; put this in the format first name, last initial.
  • Description: Last Name, First Name of the user.
  1. Click the Mailbox tab. Fill out the fields as shown below, and enter the user’s domain password in the E-mail Account Password fields.
  2. Click the ellipses box and then double-click 299 in the small window that pops up, and the window will auto-close after.

Click on the Flags tab. Ensure that the following options are checked:

The Record-A-Call tab is not used at this time, and can be skipped. Click the Save button in the bottom-right, and within approximately 30 seconds, you should get a pop-up with the message below; click OK.
