- Disable user in M365 Admin Center and revoke Authenticated sessions
- Convert users mailbox to shared mailbox.
- Archive OneDrive to Archive Sharepoint site https://legacyparkadvisors.sharepoint.com/sites/TerminatedEmployees/SitePages/CollabHome.aspx
- Remove or block product licenses in Microsoft 365 (e.g., Business Premium).
- Log in to the domain controller with an admin account (see 1Password).
- Open Active Directory Users and Computers.
- Navigate to the user’s current Organizational Unit (OU), typically found using user information or referencing the original department/OU.
- Find and right-click the user account, verify account is disabled if not select Disable Account to disable the user.
- Drag and drop (or right-click > Move) the disabled user account to the Disabled Users OU.
- Remove the user from any groups.
- Notify relevant stakeholders or confirm the deactivation per your process/ticket.
