Server Update Steps:
Section titled “Server Update Steps:”-
IMPORTANT: It is highly recommended that you test the Media/installer -prior- to the maintenance window to ensure all modules/aids get installed. This can be perfomed on GPWRDSSH-GOLD during business hours. If any modules fail to install, reach out to the vendor to get manual installers prior to the maintenance window! Review the Troubleshooting section on how to save and run the manual installers. The vendor will also be able to remote in to assist as well if necessary.

Vendor contact is in ITSM “Thomson Reuters Support” use their phone number.
- Login to the Connection Broker GPWRDSCB1 and block all connections to the host servers. To do that open Server Manager > Remote Desktop Services > Collections > Host Servers.
- Right click GPWRDSSH4, SSH8, and SSH9 and select the “do not allow new connections…” button then select OK.
- Next make sure all users are logged off.

From server manager, look at Connections,
-
Find any user other than yourself and right click and log off.
-
All users from the RDS servers must be logged off to continue to next step.

NOTE: You should send them a message (Right-Click user, send message) and ask they save their work and log off. Give them a few minutes, if they do not log off themselves, then force them out. They should know to be off the server if this was scheduled maintenance.
- You will need to connect to GPWRDSSH5 server in order to log off users from that host.
PHASE 1 - Updating the SQL Server

- IMPORTANT: UNCHECK Database then click Next.
- Take default destination folder click Next
- Click Finish when update is done
