In the event of our primary circuit going offline we have implemented a DNS failover in our CloudFare site, as well as have access to a secondary VPN. If our primary COX circuit at the datacenter goes offline due to an ISP issue below are the steps to take to reconnect to our internal systems.
In the event of a failover our Meraki firewalls located at Nfinite datacenter will automatically failover to our secondary Nfinite Internet circuit.
Cloudfare will Alert the Team through email of a failover to the Microsoft distribution group Cloudfare-DNS-ALERT@centrexit.com
Cloudfare will also then update our public DNS records for the below sites to point to the secondary IP’s so they will still be accessible.
support.centrexit.com
connect.centrexit.com
ncentral.centrexit.com
These sites have dual NAT’s configured on the Meraki Firewalls.
During a failover event the Meraki VPN at “vpn.centrexit.com” may also become unavailable.
When this happens, we advise you connect to our secondary circuit at the datacenter utilizing Cisco Anyconnect. The site address for this will be “anyconnect.centrexcloud.com”.
The VPN installers are in the CIT Public Folder everyone should have access too.
“P:\VPN - Remote Access” or \\cit-fs\public\VPN - Remote Access
